Concert Season

Christmas concert,December 3rd, 2023 (Sunday) 5:00pm to 7pm. Hope Lutheran Church – 4635 26th St W, Bradenton, FL 34207
Kathryn Parks – Vocalist The 35 piece Sarasota Concert Band will perform holiday music including sacred and secular music for Christmas and Hanukkah. The vocalist Kathryn Parks will use her beautiful and lyrical voice to sing traditional holiday favorites. Music from the Nutcracker Suite and Handel’s Messiah will add to the program. There will also be an audience participation sing along of favorite holiday music. Admission is $10 for adults and is FREE for anyone under 18. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the show.

Piano Virtuoso  Charles Harnish will perform Gershwin’s beloved Rhapsody in Blue on piano, accompanied by the 35 piece Sarasota Concert Band. This arrangement of Rhapsody in Blue is a note for note transcription from the original orchestral version. Maestro Harnish will dazzle the audience with his interpretation of this audience favorite and timeless classic. The concert will also feature classical music, jazz, Broadway, marches, and more. This concert will honor the 70th anniversary of the Sarasota Concert Band and 25th anniversary of Conductor William Barbanera. Admission is $10 for adults and is FREE for anyone under 18. Gulf Coast Honor Band , May 5th 2024 5pm to 7pm at the Sarasota Opera House, 61 North Pineapple Ave., Sarasota Florida.This concert will feature the 35 piece Sarasota Concert Band performing classical music and accompanying the concerto competition young artist winner. The concert will also feature the “Best of the Best” of our local high school and middle school students from our four county area. These students are chosen from an extensive audition process to prove they are truly the best music students in our area. The conductors are esteemed performers and educators known throughout Florida for their expertise in band music. Admission is $20 for adults and is free for anyone under 18 years old. Tickets are available at the door on the day of the show.

Please join us for our annual, free, Memorial Day Concert, Monday, May 27th,2024 at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 Tamiami Trail. From 5pm to 7pm. For over 40 years we have been honoring all branches of the military at the Phillippi Estate Park with a Memorial Day concert. The Nokomis Boy Scout Troop 1001 will present Colors. A Memorial Day address will be delivered by an esteemed member of the community. A vocalist will sing famous and memorable patriotic music with Taps and Amazing Grace also on the program. An instrumental soloist will present a virtuoso element as well. The concert will also feature music by American composers including jazz, music from Broadway and John Phillip Sousa marches. Please bring a lawn chair, blanket and snacks or you can buy something from the vendors on site. This event is free to the public. Handicapped parking is available.
